It all begins with an Atom

Born from the massive success of the Ion, the Atom is a hybrid water kite from Flexifoil. We asked our customers what they wanted from a kite that would satisfy competent kitesurfers and would also suit riders making the transition from 'C' shaped kites to 'bow' style flat kites. They told us that if we could take the performance and feel of the Ion and make a kite that was even more simple and affordable, it would be a winner.

The Atom is the resulting kite. This is a kite which is not only very simple to set up, use and pack down but also has enough performance and subtlety for experienced riders.

No corners have been cut on this kite. The Atom is manufactured from the same high-grade materials as the rest of Flexifoil's kitesurf range.

Features

Variable power setup
By attaching the front toggles to different point on the wingtips of the kite, the performance of the Atom can be optimized to suit different riding styles. Use the rear tow points for low wind or wake style manoeuvers and powered up riding. Use the front tow points for wave riding and greater depower in high wind.

Variable turning speed
By moving the rear flying line pigtail in from the trailing edge, this slows the turn rate of the kite which is great for high wind or intermediate riders. By moving the pigtail out towards the trailing edge, this increases the turn rate of the kite for light wind or radical manoeuvers and waveriding.

Optional 5th line attachment
If you prefer to ride using a 5th line system for added safety and self-landing, there is an optinal 5th line available.

TE battens
Battens are sewn into the trailing edge and reinforced with Dacron ®. They create a stiffer canopy area to provide clean release for turbulant air passing over the kite, reducing drag and providing increased turn speed.

Reinforced bridle toggle points
The toggle points are reinforced internally and externally and protected with a rubber seal for neatness
