The aim of the Blade IV was to significantly raise the performance and usability of the fixed 4-line big lift kite.
The Blade is, and has always been the most versatile kite. Its unique characteristics have made it well suited for buggy jumping, freestyle kite landboarding, snowkiting and recreational jumping. The Blad IV is still unique and has been designed with all of these kitesports in mind.
Blade IV features:
Stable hoped planformThe planform is stable, powerful and helps the kite turn smooth and fast.
Pre-stretched Unsleeved Dyneema ® Bridle
Excellent strength and low stretch properties retain the factory set tuning during use. The thing diameter creates lows drag, resulting in a fast kite.
Internal cross bracing
Incorporating internal V-ribs across the entire canopy results in an increased lifting area, so you get more lift out of your kite than ever before.
Clean aerofoil design
Our design software can now model, predict and analyse the 3D shape of a kite when it's in the air. This design aid has resulted in a highly aerodynamic wing which helps all performance characteristics of this kite.
Chikara canopy
We use Chikara ripstop nylon for strength, tear resistance and long term durability.
Constant Aspect Ratio (AR)
In previous designs we have needed to increase the AR of the larger kites to generate maxium low wind performance. With other performance improvements across the kite, we have maintained a constant AR across the range. This has resulted in better turning for all sized of kite.
Variable cell numbers
We increase the number of cells in the kite as the sizes get bigger. The big kites have lots of cells to create a cleaner profile. This makes the kite faster through the sky which means it can generate power more efficiently in light winds. The small kites have less cells so they fly at a manageable speed, even in stronger winds.
Cross Bridles
Increases the turn speed and makes the kite turn tighter. This is adjustable so you can choose your preferred turn speed.
AAA (Adjustable Angle of Attack) Bridle Adjuster
Varies the relationship between the main and the brake bridles. Increasing the angle of attack increases the power of the kite, but slows it down and makes it sit deeper in the window. Great for jumping, and those who like aggressive kites. Decreasing the angle of attack speeds up the kite through the window, reducing the grunt. This is better for upwind riding and high winds, The bridle adjuster is very easy to use so you can set the kite to suit the conditions whenever you want.
