In September 2006, 7 kiters visited the unknown destination of Verneukpan, in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, to do some land kiting (buggying and land boarding). It was our first attempt, with no idea of what to expect.
Kiting wise, we had wind every day during our time at Verneukpan and honestly couldn’t ask for better conditions. For 4 days, we kited to hearts content. We tested our stamina and abilities and the conclusion was... we HAVE to return, which usually translates into “that was awesome”.
We were blessed with some of the more spectacular scenes that nature could provide, from vast open spaces, to beautiful multicoloured sunsets, to weird and wonderful creatures around every corner.
From the start, we knew that staying at Verneukpan, the preparation and camping there were to be the biggest challenge. Verneukpan is in the middle of nowhere and “basic” doesn’t really exist. We prepared as we thought best, and in the end, it turned out to be quite enjoyable not that I would like to camp there indefinitely, but it was basic and just comfortable enough for the time we were there.

The 7th round of the PKRA is located in the seaside resort of St. Peter-Ording, Germany. The resort is a popular holiday destination attracting hundreds of tourists. The beach is massive - a two kilometer stretch of sand, that generally provides excellent conditions with plenty of sun and wind.
In Aaron's first round he had an easy win against Polish competitor, Maciet Kozerski, who is ranked 14th in the PKRA official ranking.
Hadlow (Flexifoil, UK) took to the waters and managed to stomp enough powered and technical tricks to take out Blomvall. The young British lad landed a massive 313, slim, mobe, switched back to blind airpass, and a blind judge with aerial handle pass against Blomvall’s not quite as powered slim, mobe, blind judge with aerial handle pass and KGB. - PKRA media
The second match of the semis was a giveaway. Hadlow providing more superior with more technically difficult and powered moves against Portas. - PKRA Media
In the final of the single elimination round, Aaron was head-to-head up against Kevin Langeree - PKRA ranked No.2.
